Lahav Forest Columbarium Recreation Area

Ancient History Restorations

An impressive archeology site was discovered in the northwestern part of the Lahav Forest, dating back to Byzantine times. JNF began planting this northern Negev forest in 1952, and today it extends over 6250 acres. One of the major attractions at this site is a columbarium used for breeding pigeons. JNF is planning to create a path that will pass along some of the archaeological remains. A number of sitting areas will be developed along the path, and explanatory signs will be installed.
