Marine Science & Ecology program among Alexander Muss High School in Israel’s summer offerings

Hod Hasharon, Israel – New, cutting-edge educational programs are being offered this summer by the Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI), a partner of Jewish National Fund.  The two new programs are the Jewish Heroes and Social Justice Program from June 24 to July 24, and The History, Identity, Marine Science & Ecology Program from June 22 to August 8 – being offered in partnership with the Ruppin Academic Center’s School of Marine Sciences.

Travel and campus-based, the 4-week Jewish Heroes and Social Justice Program will delve into the enriching values of leadership and community service. It combines the best of Jewish history, exciting excursions and social action activities. There will be many opportunities for volunteer work. At the end of the program, students will be presented with an official certificate acknowledging their completion of 20-25 hours of volunteer work and community service. This will be an excellent addition to college applications.

The 7-week History, Identity, Marine Science & Ecology Program will provide AMHSI students with a fascinating look at Israel’s history alongside its innovations in the fields of Marine Sciences, ecology and the environment. Students will earn high school credit, with the possibility of earning college credit. Ruppin’s School of Marine Sciences and Environment has a major focus on the sea’s importance to Israel’s economy, security and ecology. The academic program at Ruppin combines unique learning experiences and theoretical studies with fun marine activities such as seamanship, diving and sailing. Students can participate in a 5-day Scuba Diving course, swim with dolphins, save turtles, enjoy kayaking, and snorkeling. There will be other overland and underwater excursions never offered before at AMHSI.

These programs are in addition to AMHSI’s classic 8-week summer session, which is offered at this school’s beautiful campus in Hod Hasharon. Israel itself becomes the classroom for AMHSI students, who travel widely throughout the country. This is an accredited high school program, where high school juniors and seniors can earn college credits. See why nearly 20,000 alumni over the past 35 years have said that AMHSI has been one of the most important experiences of their lives.
