CAMPAIGN EXECUTIVE (Miami)

Description and Requirements: All candidates must have one to three years’ prior non-profit fundraising experience, including individual solicitation and managing volunteers, special event management and synagogue and community development. This individual’s responsibilities will include coordinating Israel related parlor meetings and major dinners, solicitations, and leadership development in the Miami Region. The position requires exceptional organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.

Greater New York Zone

CAMPAIGN EXECUTIVE (GREATER NEW YORK)

All candidates must have at least three-year prior non-profit fundraising experience and knowledge of and familiarity with the New York Jewish Communities. Emphasis will be on the professional and corporate communities and foundations. This individual will be responsible for the creation of industry-based committees; identifying and developing major gift prospects; coordinating parlor meetings, and special fund-raising events.

Candidates must have proven ability to solicit and close financial agreements with donors and must be a creative self starter, with the ability to work both independently and as a team player. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database) and a BA degree, plus additional related professional training. Los Angeles Zone

ZONE DIRECTOR (LOS ANGELES OFFICE)

Jewish National Fund is poised for an outstanding leader to take this zone to an unparalleled level of distinction on the national stage.  The Zone Director is charged with achieving JNF’s vision through exemplary leadership and will have the support of a highly committed Board, volunteer groups and the National office. The Zone geographic area is focused on greater Los Angeles including, San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles.  

As a Professional leader of this zone, you will be expected to be a leader in the local and national Jewish community, in addition to the traditional responsibilities of a Director.  We are looking for someone who is innovative with the ability to think outside the box.  The opportunity to be creative as well as an expectation to be a self-starter is key.

The Los Angeles Zone Director must provide leadership and major gift solicitation skills.  S/he must concentrate on identifying, cultivating and soliciting current and new donors for Board membership.  S/he will supervise a staff of 3 campaign executives and 2 support employees in both the LA and West Hills (Valley) offices.  We believe in active lay leader involvement and professionals are expected to solicit major gifts.  Los Angeles is currently focused on an active Women’s Campaign, a Synagogue Campaign and an Annual Dinner.  Major Gifts development is needed in increasing levels of the Campaign.

The successful candidate must possess passion for the mission of Jewish National Fund and Israel.  Knowledge of American Jewish History/Jewish History and Israel or the desire to immerse oneself in the subject matter is a key requirement.

Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds such as having held a leadership role in Jewish organizations, Jewish museums, historical societies, major libraries, or in the academic (presidents of colleges or universities, deans, or corporate sectors).  As the Los Angeles Zone must boldly make its place on the national scene, the successful candidate must combine sophisticated leadership with an entrepreneurial spirit.  Experience working with or serving on a Board of Directors is essential.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Personal Attributes:  S/he should have a background of accomplishment, a commanding presence and personal vitality.  Self-assured, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact and connect with a broad spectrum of people at all levels, as well as to command the respect of Jewish, civic, corporate, foundation, institutional, religious, ethnic and political leaders.

External Relations:  As the chief representative, spokesperson and ambassador of JNF in Los Angeles to external constituencies, the Zone Director must be capable and comfortable as the organization’s “public face” to all constituents.  S/he must possess the ability to articulate compellingly the importance of Israel and the Jewish people.  Possessing strong diplomatic skills, s/he must reach out to individuals and groups and build coalitions with other institutions and organizations.  

Fundraising:  Resource Development is an important and ongoing activity for the Zone Director.  Hence, the Zone Director must possess strong networking and influencing skills to represent the organization’s interests with leaders in the philanthropic, foundation, corporate and political communities.  Demonstrated success in fundraising is essential.

Marketing/Branding:  The Zone Director must possess the vision to oversee the organization’s important Marketing/Branding function as coordinator with the national office.  S/he must possess the ability to make the organization a magnet and attract donors and repeat donors.

Programming/Education:  The Zone Director must possess the vision to provide a combination of a substantive Zionist learning experience and entertainment in order to attract donor and repeat donors.  Appreciating and working with national education and advocacy department.

Management:  As the Zone Director is responsible for the management of all staff and operations, s/he must possess the ability to attract, develop, motivate and inspire a high-performing team.  S/he must respect the skills of others.  As the Director will have oversight of financial controls and budgets, including operating, s/he must possess financial acumen and have a firm sense of fiduciary responsibility.  Overall business, management, organizational and analytical skills are essential to manage the operation of this institution.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required.  An advance degree is highly desired.

Travel within greater Los Angeles is required.  Travel to the National office in Manhattan will be required quarterly as well as occasional travel to Israel and other US locations.

SENIOR CAMPAIGN EXECUTIVE (LOS ANGELES OFFICE)

Candidates for this position are preferred to have a minimum of 5 years’ fundraising experience.  All candidates must have some knowledge of and familiarity with the Los Angeles area Jewish community.  This individual will be responsible for identifying and developing major gift prospects and one-on-one solicitations. They will work directly with our Sapphire Society (Women’s major gifts), Commercial Real Estate and Capital Group, and will strategize and implement new initiatives aimed at raising major gifts.  They will also be involved in coordinating parlor meetings and special fund-raising events for the National Campaign. This person will co-staff all major dinners and will be responsible for major donor special events under the supervision of the Zone Director.  The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and database).  A graduate degree is preferred but not required. 

An employee who recommends an applicant for this position will receive a one-time, Three Hundred Dollar ($300) bonus if the applicant is hired for the position, passes the initial trial period and completes six (6) months of service.

Western Zone

Regional Director (Southern California)

   Jewish National Fund is poised for an outstanding leader to take this region to an unparalleled level of distinction. The geographic area for the Regional Director is focused on Orange County, Long Beach, Palos Verdes, Palm Springs and San Diego.

The Southern California Regional Director will be directly involved in one-on-one solicitations, providing professional leadership for the Board of Directors and committees, identifying and developing major gifts prospects, and coordinating parlor meetings, special fundraising events, all major dinners and special events. S/he will be under the supervision of the Western Zone Director. S/he must concentrate on identifying, cultivating and soliciting current and new donors for Board membership, with an emphasis on Board development in Orange County, San Diego and Palm Springs. This position is located in the Newport Beach, CA office. S/he will supervise a staff of two within this location, one campaign executive and one support employee. Additionally, s/he will supervise two part-time consultants within this region, located in Palm Springs and San Diego. S/he will be expected to cultivate a $1 million prospect each year. S/he will be expected to develop 200 gifts over $5000 and 20 gifts over $10,000 within the next 3 years. S/he should increase the donor base by 300 new gifts each year. S/he will also be responsible for the management of three budgets; Orange County, Palm Springs and San Diego. This position reports to the Western Zone Director.

The successful candidate must possess passion for the mission of Jewish National Fund and Israel. Knowledge of American Jewish History/Jewish History and Israel or the desire to immerse oneself in the subject matter is a key requirement. Candidates for this position are preferred to have a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience working for a nonprofit, fundraising organization or similar fundraising and/or Sales/Marketing experience. The ideal person will be involved in Jewish communal/organizational life. The successful candidate must combine an entrepreneurial spirit with a goal-oriented ability to work independently. A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Travel throughout Orange County, Palm Springs and San Diego from 5 to 10 days per month is expected. Occasional travel to other Western Zone locations along with an annual trip to the Staff Conference will also be expected. Senior Campaign Exec, (Baltimore)

Jewish National Fund seeks a Senior Campaign Executive for fundraising activities in the Maryland/Delaware Region. Candidates for this position are preferred to have a minimum of 5-7 years experience working for a non-profit fundraising organization. This individual will be involved in one-on-one solicitations, providing professional leadership for lay boards and committees and implementing fundraising dinners, parlor meetings and special events for the National Campaign under the supervision of the Zone Director.

Midwestern Zone

National

Sincha Program Coordinator (Rockville Centre Office)

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills and a background in sales or customer service. Attention to detail, accuracy, and impeccable spelling and grammar are essential. Duties include answering questions and taking orders for invitations, drafting and revising proofs, printing certificates and envelopes, processing payments, and updating the customer database. You will also be required to represent JNF at several weekend Simcha Fairs per year.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet is required to ensure the proper spelling of names and Hebrew dates on invitations.
