Jeffry L. Kashuk, M.D. FACS

After spending nine years in Jerusalem, Israel, Dr. Jeffry Kashuk has returned with his family to the United States. While in Israel, Dr. Kashuk was a trauma surgeon at the Rabin Trauma Center – Tel Aviv University Medical Center/Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, maintained a Jerusalem based private surgical practice, and served as a reserve surgeon and an officer in the Israel Defense Forces.

For two years immediately prior to returning to Denver, (where he trained under Dr.Gene Moore in the early 80's,) Dr. Kashuk served as senior attending surgeon in trauma and critical care at Philadelphia's Hahnemann University Hospital and as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has now joined Denver Health's Department of Surgery, Trauma and Critical Care, as well as being an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Because of the tragic bombings in Israel, Dr. Kashuk was forced to learn a type of medicine he would have preferred to have never known. His unique experience in dealing with the care and treatment of bomb explosion victims in Israel and contributions to numerous scientific publications has been of particular interest to the Home Front Command in the United States. His extensive trauma experience is a valued asset to Denver Health and the mountain region.
