Shiree Kidron
Singer
Shiree Kidron, Israeli born Soprano is a versatile vocalist and musician who perform with different unique vocal programs locally and internationally.
Shiree has gained her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance at the Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelors Performance Degree at the Rubin High Academy of Music in Jerusalem.
For the past year Shiree has been performing in numerous fundraisers events and different temples around NY area with both classical and light music repertoire in a special exciting program called:” Voices of a Homeland” which combines famous Israeli popular songs of all times, Israeli Cabaret and Ladino Music in a Unique combination of a classical touch and middle eastern- ethnic Influences.
She is currently training to become a cantor under the tutelage of Maestro Leon Berger and has performed a High Holiday family service at West End Temple, NYC on September 2007.
For the last two summers Shiree has performed various Opera and Musical Theater scenes with Pacific Opera in Carnegie Hall featuring roles from: Tales of Hoffman, West Side Story, South Pacific, Hansel and Gretel and more.
On spring 2006 Shiree performed the role of Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof as part of the Natchez Opera Festival, Mississippi. The summer before that she performed the lead role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro at the prestigious New Opera Festival di Rome, Italy.
While in school Ms. Kidron performed the title role of Beauty in Spohr's Beauty and the Beast - spring main stage opera production at the Manhattan School of Music. She was also seen as Sue in Where the Cross Is Made as part of the National Opera Associates Convention, New York City. Other works includes the role of Paladea (L'incoronazion di Poppea) in an evening of Opera Scenes at MSM.
As a Scholarship recipient of Israel Vocal Art Institute (2004-2005) Shiree has been participating at the International Opera Summer Program in Tel Aviv (artistically directed by Joan Dornemann) and sang in a gala concert at Tel Aviv Opera House.
She is a Winner of the Sharon Tavor Vocal Competition for Singers and Orchestra and has performed arias of Mozart and Handel with the chamber orchestra of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
As a recipient of the David Whitcomb Foundation Award for promising young soloists, Ms. Kidron has recently performed a solo recital at Montgomery's Residence in Hudson, New York.
