I am embarking on a new adventure.
I am excited to be participating in Plant Your Way to Israel, raising funds to support Jewish National Fund's critical forestry efforts while at the same time raising funds for my own visit to Israel! I have always wanted to visit Israel and the opportunity to raise awareness and fundraise for a great cause at the same time is such a privilege.
I have the amazing opportunity to intern for six months at the Arava Institute in Israel. The internship applies alternative building methods in an environment focused on peace, justice, and the environment. By living and learning with others interns and students from the Middle East and abroad, interns form friendships and develop skills that will enable them to lead the region in solving environmental challenges through partnership and mutual understanding. And even though I couldn’t put a price on this experience, there is a cost associated with this program-- $9,850. This is where you come in. Being a recent grad my funds are limited. I have personal savings to contribute and I have already secured a scholarship. But I need your help to make up the difference. I need to raise $3,600 by December 15, 2013. With your help, I can embark on my journey in January 2014.
For each donation of $36 or more received on my personal fundraising page, half will go directly to JNF’s tree planting efforts and half will go into a special fund for my trip.
