Jewish National Fund

Welcome to the Ezra Schwartz, z"l Memorial Page

It is with great sadness that we memorialize a most beloved person, Ezra Schwartz, z"l while raising much needed funds for Jewish National Fund.  Ezra was loved by all who knew him and he is remembered as a caring, compassionate individual who was an exceptional friend, brother, son, and grandson.

These funds will be used to build a memorial lookout on the Boys' Promenade in Gush Etzion-- an effort that is a fitting and lasting tribute to Ezra Schwartz, z'l because he was so moved by the plight and tragedy of the three boys (Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach, who had been kidnapped and murdered the previous year) and because he was killed on his way to volunteer at Oz V'Gaon, the memorial park for these boys. In addition, the promenade that is to be built will ensure a much safer method of traveling on foot or on bikes between the various Jewish communities of the Gush. Currently, there is only open road and at night, the road is pitch black.  The promenade/lookout will great improve the quality of life of the residents of Gush Etzion and ensure that pedestrians remain safe.  The lookout will be situated near the symbol of Gush Etzion, the great oak tree, that has stood strong through wars and conflicts, just as the Gush has.

Ezra loved being in Israel, and making Israel better for all Jews is a goal that we know Ezra would have supported.  In addition, this is a wonderful opportunity to do something proactive for Israel by helping to build Israel's infrastructure and improve the safety of her residents, our brethren in Israel, while simultaneously fulfilling the mitzvah of charity and raising Ezra's soul to the highest heights of Heaven.

The JNF has been actively involved in fundraising for both the promenade and lookout, and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
Please help us to help improve the lives of Israelis and remember a great person.

Thank you!
