Jewish National Fund

Welcome to My Personal Page

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our dear friend, colleague and passionate lay leader, Ellen Rosenberg. Over the years, Ellen has fulfilled her life’s mission to share her knowledge of Israel, and her love of the Jewish National Fund to all with whom she came in contact.

Ellen was her happiest when participating in or chairing the many JNF missions.  She chaired our JNF National Conference and the Makor committee.  She has provided guidance as a member of our Legal Committee, Women’s National Executive Board and National Board of Directors.  Ellen's heart and soul poured into the organization, all for the benefit of K'Lal Yisroel.

Ellen was diagnosed two years ago with a very rare form of leukemia, AML. Since then, Ellen has gone through endless chemotherapy  treatments, two bone marrow transplants, experimental treatment, and has done so in the most heroic manner, because to Ellen, life mattered and she made every moment count. Ellen’s life has been a beautiful blessing to all of us who knew her, worked with her, or traveled to Israel with her.  She was one of those rare gifted people who strived to make every moment count, to do what was right, and to fulfill her duty of Tikkun Olam.

Ellen leaves behind her devoted husband Cary, her two wonderful children, Hal (Lauren) and Shira (Peter), and two incredible granddaughters who gave her the strength to fight on.  May the entire Rosenberg, Blatt, and Besmenoff families be comforted amongst the Mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, for her memory shall be a blessing to all forever.

At the request of so many of her JNF family and friends, we are raising money in Ellen’s memory for a project to bear her name and reinforce her memory, for generations to come.  Please join us in memorializing this wonderful woman.
