4 Year Tribute to Karen Ring- Loved By All
This tribute page has been created to honor the life of Karen Ring, her devotion and love of family, and her passion and commitment to the land and people of Israel.
Karen Ring, Chava Bat Shayndel Eliezer, was a loving wife, mother, mom-mom, sister, daughter, aunt, and cousin. Her goodness and love were lavished on her adoring husband, Burton, for 47 years of marriage, her four devoted children, her 13 (baker's dozen) grandchildren, father, sister, relatives, and many friends.
Mom loved life with a passion! She was totally dedicated to her family, G-D, and the chance to help anyone in need, often putting her own desires second. She loved nature, especially in the spring as the land awoke from its slumber, turning green and teeming with life. She had an amazing green thumb and would often be found planting or relocating beautiful flowers and trees that were in distress.
Mom's legacy was to be sure that anything she touched would be stronger than how she found it. She taught her family and 13 grandkids to always carry on a tradition of trying to make the world a better place- from a simple gesture of kindness to touching others' lives by showing them how to be healthier, both physically and mentally.
Mom was incredibly passionate about the world, with special emphasis on the land and people of Israel and the United States of America. Her wish throughout her lifetime was for everyone and anyone to plant trees and sun-loving plants in Israel-or in your own back yard-in a way that connected you to the land. Sometimes, you didn't have a choice, because mom would often realize a Simcha or mitzvah by placing a plant in a loved one's yard that would eventually mature and blossom into a beautiful landscape of vibrant life.
By donating in memory of our beloved mom, Karen Ring, you are ensuring that her love, commitment and legacy to Israel, The United States of America, and the world will live forever.
Israel is one of only two countries in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees. But Israel was not blessed with natural forests; its forests are all hand-planted. When the pioneers of the State arrived, they were greeted by barren land. To claim the land that had been purchased with the coins collected in JNF blue and white pushkes, the next order of business was to plant trees among the rocky hillsides and sandy soil. Since it was established in 1901, JNF has planted more than 240 million trees all over the State of Israel, providing luscious belts of green covering more than 250,000 acres.
The Karen Ring Memorial Forest Fund goal of $50,000 in contributions will add a minimum of ten thousand new trees to Israel's landscape. The fund will serve as a lasting tribute to her beautiful life. Donations of any amount to The Karen Ring Memorial Forest Fund, small or large, will be acknowledged in her name with an inscription on a Wall of Recognition in American Independence Park in Jerusalem once the goal is met.
This is a journey and not a destination; a marathon, not a race; a legacy fulfilled in her honor for generations and generations to come. This is the perfect honor for the most perfect woman who will always have an extraordinary place in all of our hearts.
